Purpose of Program: The MHSP program provides competitive grants to State educational agencies (SEAs, as defined in 20 U.S.C. 7801(49)) and local educational agencies (LEAs, as defined in 20 U.S.C. 7801(30)) to address the shortage of credentialed (as defined in the Notice of Final Priorities) school-based mental health services providers, specifically school psychologists, in high-need LEAs.
